DESCRIPTION: WW - Paul Buhré, "Faber Type" monopusher chronograph, manual wind, 47mm x 80mm to articulating bow lug tips, 16.5mm wire lug width, original 14K gold case with extensive military associated presentation engraving to case rear and sides, pendant and faux crown at 6 for symmetry of design, brown leather NATO style strap, white enamel single sunk dial with black numerals and oversized minute chapter to edge, 19J, gilt mvt, s#281330 within case. A beautiful example of this scarce 1910s vintage chronograph, the case presentation is of military interest and translates as "To Dear Major Paul Georgievich Stargenetzky Lappa from the Officers of the 3rd Standards Squadron. Lt. Chapron da Larré, 2nd Lt. Boursky Bik, Kovalevsky, Brazel, Tolmacheft-Sargent Schivshkewich, 1910-1915." Gross weight of assembled watch without strap 58.8 dwt (91.6 g).
CONDITION: Mvt: Running, chronograph functions and resets properly, nearly mint cosmetic mvt condition overall, excellent gilt tone, plates with few small fine to micro-fine scratches, chronograph steelwork with few small bits of oxide; nearly flawless dial with few small to infinitesimal edge flakes under bezel with the most notable at 3; nearly mint hands; case shows very light wear, band with some scratches and nicks adjacent opening lip of case rear, no dents or dings, good engraving detail; tight bow, functional crown at 12 shows medium wear with ridge break, faux crown at 6 shows virtually no wear; good glass crystal.
